Hydrangea macrophylla are perhaps one of the best known garden plants. Originally from Japan these robust and reliable plants produce a truly stunning display in summer and autumn. Miss Saori was winner of the coveted RHS Chelsea plant of the year 2014. A stunning new, compact, Hydrangea which will flower on both new and old wood, giving it a very long flowering period. The petals of the sterile, double flowers, have a deep rose margin, creating a picotee effect with the creamy white centre. They look spectacular against the backdrop of lush, dark green foliage, which has burgundy overtones in spring and autumn. Its compact growth makes it ideal for smaller gardens. Very easy to grow in a slightly shaded location in most reasonable quality, moist soils. It can be grown in the garden or in a pot or container. In containers, use a good quality compost. Ensure you feed regularly as a hungry plant is a poor performer. We recommend Osmoscote pro 8-9 month applied in the early spring. One application gives all the nutrients the plant requires for the whole year.
